Great Food, Free House, Real Ales, Something for all the family.

Welcome to the Ship Inn

Dating back to the early 18th century, The Ship Inn is a splendid old building that, as well as being found in the main road through the village, also lies close to the sandy beaches of St Austell Bay.

Owned and personally run by local publican, Chris Giles, this large establishment has plenty to offer both locals and visitors alike.

The interior of this charming old inn is as full of character as its age would suggest and, along with the original ceiling beams, many other features have withstood the test of time.

From the inviting bar visitors can enjoy a variety of quality ales (we are in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide), with many beers from local breweries, as well as draught lager, cider and spirits.

There are also a tasty range of bar snacks, and our Carvery is  served

every Sunday from 12.00 till 5.30 for £7.95

It is also served every evening  for only

£5.95

Other meals and specials are also served at both lunchtime and in the evening.

A well-known and popular place for a celebration meal, the menus here are sure to excite

even the most jaded palate.

We are proud to say that we have achieved the

top rating in the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

Seating up to 40 guests, and with free parking, our large upstairs room makes an ideal out of town venue for your Wedding, Meeting or Conference.

We welcome well behaved dogs on leads throughout the pub and with Par Beach a very short walk away you both will have a great time.

Ideally placed for those walking the South West Coastal Path or exploring Cornwall.

Outside too there is much for the inn's customers: to the side and rear are well maintained gardens where there is there a bandstand, and also a play area for children.

Regular entertainment can be found at the Ship. Call us on 01726 812540 for details.
